ENCHANTED VALLEY
Enchanted Valley is a renovation project for the entire children's leisure & entertainment floor of the Maternal and Child Hospital of Malaga (Spain).ENCHANTED VALLEY
The project was born as an initiative of the Juegaterapia Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission focuses on donating fun through quality play and recreation spaces in Hospitals where children with cancer must remain hospitalized during their harsh treatments.ENCHANTED VALLEY
Located on the 7th floor of the Hospital, this recreational floor is divided into three well-differentiated spaces: a multipurpose interior space that can serve as an indoor play area as well as a study area; and two outdoor terraces on both sides of the interior space, providing this playful floor with outdoor play and recreation opportunities under the mild weather of Malaga, all of it intended to make the stay of children in the hospital more enjoyable and bearable.ENCHANTED VALLEY
Understanding the important role that happiness and the mood of children play in the success of their recovery, backed up by scientific research that proves the actual benefits of introducing PLAY as part of their recovery, this project seeks to generate a true positive and hopeful impact in that recovery process of children through play and fun, so they can forget about their condition and fill themselves with will to live.ENCHANTED VALLEY
To tackle this motivating project, we have been inspired by the city of Malaga itself, characterized for being a city located between the sea and the mountains. When we realized that the outdoor terraces on the 7th floor enjoyed splendid views of the Mountains of Málaga on the North, and the Sea on the South, we decided to use that as a conceptual idea around which the entire project would revolve.ENCHANTED VALLEY
From there, Enchanted Valley concept was born, with the intention of creating a forest typical of a children's fairytale on the North terrace and a magical seaside scenario on the South terrace, creating a duality of spaces to explore.ENCHANTED VALLEY
Due to the limited space available on the outdoor terraces, and in an attempt for trying not to compromise accessibility and the “interior-exterior” connection, we decided as a first action to cover the vertical columns, turning them into the trees of said magical forest, thus leaving available the largest possible horizontal surface to incorporate games and floor graphics that allow free playability and promote a more immersive experience. Said exterior horizontal surfaces are treated mimicking the natural environment, where small flowers and plants sprout on the North terrace while algae and waves emerge of the South terrace, serving as seating and resting elements, or social play objects for interaction between children.ENCHANTED VALLEY
Once having the forest defined on the north terrace and the seaside on the south one, the indoor space is treated as an extension of both towards the interior, using the pavement as a visual element to connect both the outdoor terraces and the indoor space, where everything collides in the middle.ENCHANTED VALLEY
The nexus that unites both worlds in the interior space is a central circulation area using wood textures and earthy colors, imitating a mountainous pathway, leaving the lateral areas for leisure, games and recreation, using vegetable color palette with green and yellow hues on the North side, and a marine color palette with blue and aquamarine hues on the South part.ENCHANTED VALLEY
Altogether, Enchanted Valley will set a new standard for children's leisure and entertainment areas in Hospitals, considering it as a key part of the recovery plan for children and elevating the importance of its role within Hospitals, from a mere space to spend free time to a truly impactful space which strongly contributes to the successful recovery of children, as shown in the research study done jointly by Juegaterapia Foundation and La Paz University Hospital from Madrid.ENCHANTED VALLEY

WIRED SCAPE
Wired Scape is an innovative playscape nestled in a residential district of Guangzhou, China. Designed by 100architects, it merges nature, fluid geometries, and open-ended play into a unique destination.WIRED SCAPE
The design draws inspiration from Guangzhou’s diverse natural landscapes, focusing on two main elements: forest and flowing water, translated into abstract and dynamic forms.WIRED SCAPE
Every structure in the playscape appears to be made of wires wrapping around an invisible axis, creating highly textured and tactile volumes with a surreal and sculptural quality.WIRED SCAPE
This wire-based design method shapes the “trees” of the forest, forming dreamlike volumes that resemble woven spheres, full of texture and visual richness.WIRED SCAPE
The central play equipment features four sculptural trees. These climbable structures also function as overhead canopies, offering shade and creating vertical connections through hanging bridges.WIRED SCAPE
The structures are both playful and monumental, providing kids with fun challenges and adults with vantage points to observe or join the activities.WIRED SCAPE
Inspired by the flow of rivers, colorful curved lines define the ground patterns, weaving throughout the site in a visual expression of movement and continuity.WIRED SCAPE
These lines connect various functional zones, from playful plazas to resting platforms, unifying the space with a flowing, wired landscape.WIRED SCAPE
Right in front of the main play area lies a sunken plaza, functioning as a small amphitheater or “sunken lake,” offering a place for gathering and observation.WIRED SCAPE
The space invites both activity and rest—ideal for performances, social interaction, or quiet reflection within a playful environment.WIRED SCAPE
Wired Scape is not just for children. It’s a multi-generational space where parents, kids, and young adults engage together in shared moments of joy.WIRED SCAPE
Children climb, jump, slide, and explore freely, developing motor and cognitive skills through imaginative and active play.WIRED SCAPE
Parents can rest comfortably in shaded seating areas with clear sightlines, feeling at ease while staying close and connected to their children.WIRED SCAPE
Young adults are drawn to the bold sculptural features, photo-friendly aesthetics, and vibrant social atmosphere that makes the space feel alive and inviting.WIRED SCAPE
The playscape also features classic playground elements—swings, seesaws, merry-go-rounds, and spring seats—encouraging physical engagement and fun for everyone.WIRED SCAPE
A round ping-pong table adds a playful, interactive layer that invites competition, movement, and friendly exchanges among users.WIRED SCAPE
Seating throughout the landscape is dynamic and social, designed to be part of the playful experience rather than just functional rest stops.WIRED SCAPE
Generous shading structures and multiple entry points ensure accessibility and comfort at all times of day and for all users.WIRED SCAPE
Wired Scape promotes overall well-being by combining physical activity, imaginative play, and social interaction in one coherent experience.WIRED SCAPE
At night, the atmosphere transforms through carefully designed lighting embedded into the wired structures and the ground.WIRED SCAPE
Selected lines are illuminated subtly, turning the space into an enchanted glowing forest—active and magical even after sunset.© 100architects

Designed by 100architects for Emaar Misr, The Hub introduces a bold and colorful public space. It immerses visitors in experiences that engage people of all ages, but it’s especially targeted at adolescents and young adults.THE HUB
In late 2023, Emaar Misr approached 100architects with an ambitious goal: to design a one-of-a-kind entertainment hub. The vision was to create a social anchor for young people in the Marassi development.THE HUB
The idea was for The Hub to complement the existing public facilities and amenities for adults at Marassi. This gave the project a clear focus on creating a lively and energetic space for youth.THE HUB
The challenge was immense—100architects had only two months to design and six months to complete the construction of this groundbreaking project.THE HUB
Construction kicked off in January 2024, with the team working at full speed. The goal was to deliver the immersive and dynamic space just in time for the summer season.THE HUB
At the core of The Hub’s design is the concept of a "Big Bang," symbolizing life, youth, and energy. This idea is translated through bold visuals and dynamic forms.THE HUB
The "Big Bang" concept manifests in the use of bright colors, engaging lighting, and flowing shapes. Together, they create an inviting environment that draws people in.THE HUB
Visitors are guided through the space by a creative wayfinding system, with colorful lines embedded directly into the ground. These lines enhance foot traffic flow while adding to the design's visual appeal.THE HUB
The master plan of The Hub is structured around a "triple heart" layout. This layout consists of three primary zones: a multipurpose event space, a playground, and a Kids Town.THE HUB
The Central Plaza sits at the heart of The Hub, surrounded by these three key zones. This arrangement is designed to encourage spontaneous interactions and self-expression.THE HUB
The Hub’s design encourages social engagement and youth expression, staying true to 100architects' philosophy of creating public spaces that foster community interaction.THE HUB

Besides these main areas, The Hub also offers a variety of attractions such as an open-air cinema, a go-kart track, and a roller-skating rink. These activities are aimed at engaging both children and young adults.THE HUB
Sports courts are also available, adding to the variety of activities. Visitors can participate in various sports while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.THE HUB

The flexible public spaces are designed to accommodate pop-up markets, concerts, and workshops. These areas are adaptable to seasonal or temporary events, enhancing the overall experience.THE HUB
The Hub’s commercial aspect includes 10,000 m² dedicated to F&B and 15,000 m² for retail spaces. This combination makes it not only a place for entertainment but also a destination for dining and shopping.THE HUB
Container-based F&B outlets are a standout feature, adding an industrial edge to the design. These outlets, along with locally themed retail shops, resonate with the young, urban crowd.THE HUB
The modular design approach enabled a rapid construction process while maintaining the striking visual appeal that defines The Hub.THE HUB
