Playing Ribbon
The Playing Ribbon offers a customizable public space designed to cater to your specific preferences. With the flexibility to assemble a custom ribbon of varying lengths and choose from 58 components, you can create the perfect play and relaxation area.
As part of the Ribbon Series developed by our office, the Playing Ribbon has undergone extensive research and development to ensure functionality and customization for diverse users. Each component is meticulously crafted to fulfill the requirements of play and recreation in public spaces while maintaining an attractive and eye-catching appearance.
Among the 58 available components, 53 are dedicated to playing, offering a wide range of activities for individuals of all ages. Five elements are dedicated to lounging, offering various-sized tables, seats of different heights, amphitheater seats, and evening lamps for additional ambiance. 5 elements for relaxation, such as hammocks and hanging tables, are also presented.
Play elements include 5 different musical features such as xylophones, drums, and speakers, along with 5 games for all generations like Mahjong, various scales of Tic Tac Toe, and puzzles. Pass-throughs and tunnels with varying difficulties, stable bridges, swings for both adults and kids, with slow swings or seesaws, and 10 structures to work on stability and agility are also provided for children’s development. Additionally, there are 8 types of slides available, ranging from toddler-friendly to giant spiral slides accessible through a maze.
We offer the option to customize your ribbon upon request, ensuring it fits your desired ratio of playing to relaxation elements. Whatever components you desire and shape of the overall ribbon, you can just point out the desire mix and we will produce it for you.
The following examples are composed of 70% playing and 30% lounge equipment, providing a balanced mix of playfulness and leisure. These ribbons can be used as standalone installations in small public spaces or combined to create larger play areas in parks, schools, and other communal sites. Whether installed individually or integrated into a larger landscape, the Playing Ribbon offers a versatile space for individuals to engage in recreational activities, socialize, and enjoy the public space.
The main structure of the Ribbon features robust stainless steel frames and finishing materials, including stainless steel sheets coated with a layer of fluorocarbon paint. Seating elements are crafted from high-quality wood planks for durability and aesthetic appeal, while surfaces requiring grips and direct contact are coated with rubber for non-slip functionality.
With a width of 1.2 meters, the Playing Ribbon provides ample space for various activities. Its modular design allows for easy customization and adaptation to different environments and user preferences. We offer customization options for colors, lighting, and details to match your specific requirements, whether you desire a vibrant play area or a serene outdoor space.
The design of the Playing Ribbons not only focuses on creating a versatile space for relaxation and entertainment but also emphasizes the importance of providing ample opportunities for both kids and adults to engage in “playful learning.” By incorporating understandings from neuroscience, the Playing Ribbons actively promote cognitive development, stress relief, and social interaction. Access to public spaces where individuals can connect, socialize, and play is essential for fostering a sense of community. Tailored to the needs of individuals of all ages and preferences, the Playing Ribbons serve as dynamic gathering points where generations can come together to have fun and learn through recreational activities. Whether it’s children enjoying outdoor playtime, adults meeting friends for a chat, or families engaging in interactive games, these outdoor settings offer a perfect blend of leisure and social interaction.
