Lounge Ring
 
As a component of the Play Rings series, the Lounge Ring has been meticulously developed and prototyped through an extensive research and development process. These rings are tailored to users of various ages and stages of physical and mental development, fostering playful learning in a safe yet stimulating environment. The Play Rings aim to encourage the development of physical, social, communicative, and collaborative skills.
 
“Playful learning” is central to our approach, encompassing both supervised and unsupervised play in dedicated environments. This type of learning is highly effective, fostering low-anxiety environments that encourage active engagement and novel experiences, facilitating peer and adult interactions in an entertaining manner. From a neuroscience perspective, playful learning enhances children’s cognitive skills by leveraging previous experiences and promoting the development of interconnected brain processes. To maximize learning outcomes, playful learning environments must embody characteristics such as joyfulness, meaningfulness, active engagement and social interaction.
 
The Lounge Ring is tailored for young adults and middle-aged individuals aged from 24 +, affectionately referred to as “The Chilled.” This age group typically seeks a space for relaxation, socialization, and leisure activities. Therefore, the Lounge Ring serves as a platform for social interactions, named the “Lounge ring.”

Comprising various seating arrangements and positions, the Lounge Ring encourages a wide range of interactions among users. Lounge seats provide spaces for relaxation, while table seats offer areas for meals or snacks. Communal swings and hammocks are provided for resting, arranged in groups or individually to facilitate communication based on desired interaction. Functional facilities, such as shading structures, ensure comfort during adverse weather conditions.
 
Additionally, the ribbon features playing equipment, including a large loop slide accessed via a secure spiral staircase. This elevated point serves as an urban landmark visible from far away, enhancing the ring’s presence in the cityscape. A chess game table is also provided for intergenerational gatherings and recreational activities.
 
Constructed with stainless steel frames and finished with fluorocarbon-painted steel sheets, the main structure ensures durability and safety. Certain features and equipment are crafted with fiberglass, and the Fun Ring reaches a maximum height of 6270 mm. Customization options for colors, play features, and details are available to meet client needs and site conditions, with modifications made upon request.
 
The Lounge Ring not only provides a space for relaxation and socialization but also fosters community engagement and urban vitality. By offering a vibrant and inviting environment for individuals of all ages, it encourages active participation and enhances the overall livability of urban spaces. Through its thoughtful design and flexible seating arrangements, the Lounge Ring becomes a focal point for community gatherings, cultural events, and social interactions, contributing to the creation of inclusive and dynamic public spaces.
