100ARCHITECTS COLLAB WITH NON-PROFIT SPANISH FOUNDATION, JUEGATERAPIA.ORG

What a great satisfaction it is for 100architects to announce this very special collaboration with Juegaterapia.org for a truly exciting and touching project that aims to help children diagnosed with cancer and undergoing treatment at the Maternal & Child Hospital of Málaga (Spain).

The project was born as an initiative of the Foundation, whose mission is focused on donating fun through quality play and recreation spaces in Hospitals where children with cancer must remain hospitalized during their harsh treatments. Understanding the important role that happiness and the mood of children play in their recovery, this project seeks to generate that true positive and hopeful impact in the recovery process of the children at the Maternal and Child Hospital of Malaga through play and fun.

At 100architects, we are well aware of the important role that PLAY plays in the physical and mental development of children. Thus, our practice and design philosophy always confront the challenges of our projects for public spaces from a very playful and joyful perspective.

However, it wasn’t until Juegaterapia reached out to us and spoke to us about their mission, that we understood what a huge positive impact on hospitalized children and in their recovery process PLAY has demonstrated to have.

The Foundation is currently raising funds for the construction of this amazing project, so if you would like to make a donation to help making it possible, please click this link:

It is an explosion of colors, where vibrant hues blend seamlessly to form four distinct rectangular stripes, each representing a unique activity zone. These stripes create a dynamic flow, inviting users to engage with the space in different ways. The interplay of colors and design transforms the area into an interactive and playful environment.

It’s not classical landscape architecture where design focuses on elegant alignment with a space’s existing character, but “injecting identity into places that do not have one,” he says.
