100Architects and FAU create alliance for Professional internships in Shanghai, China
Shanghai January 26, 2021
We are very happy and proud to have signed an agreement with the (FAU) Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Universidad of Chile to offer paid professional internships to fresh graduates in our Shanghai studio.
This agreement will allow the realization of internships for the graduate students of the architecture career in an architecture office of great prestige at international level and located in one of the most important cities in the world. Marcial Jesús is an architect from the FAU (Faculty of Architecture and Urban design) of the Universidad de Chile and was one of the promoters of this agreement.
“I believe that this collaboration can be very meaningful for students, exposing them to challenges, contemporary design and construction problems occurring in one of the megacities of the Asian giant. Additionally, entering to the international work environment can be very important and a tremendous way to launch the professional career for young architects”
“Shanghai is a fascinating city; it is cosmopolitan and at the same time rooted in ancient traditions; a city of contrasts. So just the experience of living and working in Shanghai for the 6 months will be totally unforgettable”.
On the other hand, Daniel Opazo, Academic Director and International Relations of the FAU, stated that:
“This agreement represents a series of positive trends that we hope to deepen in the near future. On the one hand, to continue on the path of opening new international opportunities for professional internships for our students, since experiences of this type will undoubtedly make a difference in their future work. On the other, increase our ties with Asia and thus expand the international positioning of the Faculty”.
From the current challenges of the FAU and the University of Chile, Professor Daniel Opazo highlighted the importance
“of creating ever stronger ties of collaboration with our graduates, who have a very important role in the relationship between university and society. In this sense, I express our gratitude to Marcial for the opportunity to receive architecture students at 100Architects and I hope that we can carry out similar initiatives in the short term”.
